Afghanistan Returnees Overview 1-30 November 2025

 November saw the sustained, large-scale return of Afghans from Iran and Pakistan, amid operational challenges and high-level dialogue on durable solutions. This underscored a critical need for enhanced technical coordination to guide strategic engagement, particularly regarding the Afghan authorities' Township initiative and to align stakeholder data on returnees. Returns continued at a high volume. Operations in the southeast for those from Pakistan faced a tense environment, with 220 security incidents and intermittent closures of all five major border crossings.
