Afghanistan Returnees Overview 10-31 Oct 2025

As of 31 October 2025, an estimated 2.26 million Afghans have returned to Afghanistan this year. The majority (1.72 million) returned from Iran, with 984,151 of these arriving since 1 July alone. During the reporting period 51,925 returnees arrived from Iran and 32,158 from Pakistan, of which 11,470 were Afghans holding Proof of Registration (PoR) cards, invalidated by the Government of Pakistan, in August 2025. Overall, 9% of all undocumented returnees from Iran and Pakistan are women headed households, whereas for documented they constitute on average 30%.
