UN and Partners integrated response for Afghan returnees from Pakistan

Afghanistan is facing one of its largest returns in recent history. Since September 2023, nearly one million Afghans have returned from Pakistan, Adding strain to already vulnerable communities. In 2023–2024, the UN and NGO partners supported hundreds of thousands of returnees and displaced families at border crossings and in Priority Areas of Return—addressing urgent needs and fostering reintegration, resilience, and hope.
